I've added a feature for booting into single user mode.
Single user mode boots the system only into, you guess it, single user mode. Its useful for running fsck or repairs on disks, or trying to recover a broken system.
The "single user mode" option can be set for each Configuration Profile. You could even [...]

I've opened up some slots on a new server for Linode 64s that came online this evening.
It's a nice machine - dual 2.66 Ghz Xeons, 3GB RAM.
It also has an upgraded host kernel and upgraded network filtering.

Create a disk image, formatted to ext3 (or whatever)
Go into your config profile
Find an empty /dev/ubd* device - probably /dev/ubdc if you've got a root and a swap already. Select your new drive label from the drop-down.
Save the config
Reboot your linode
Now, inside the Linode, you can mount it like so:
mount /dev/ubd[insert device letter here] /path/to/mountpoint
/path/to/mountpoint [...]

If you purchase additional IP addresses for your Linode, you must reboot your machine before the IP addresses will function correctly.
Also, remember that the first IP address is used when your DHCP client requests network info.
This can cause problems if your IP was
64.5.53.20
and now you've added
64.5.53.100
because when sorted, the list becomes:
64.5.53.100
64.5.53.20
So now the .100 is [...]

The Red Hat 9.0 (Small) distro has been updated to contain a fix for sm-client, part of sendmail, failing to start.
If you're using the RH9 small distro and see this when starting sendmail:
Starting sendmail: [ OK ]
Starting sm-client: No local mailer defined
QueueDirectory (Q) option must be set
or this in your syslog:
Jun 24 17:05:04 [...]
